the story · a life, in order

The big moments,
with receipts.

Seven chapters, 1991 to now. None of it is from memory — every chapter pulls its artifacts straight out of the record: what played, what got watched, what got built, where the road went.

Memphis

Born in Memphis in 1991. The first thing I ever loved was a bright blue shovel, sealed under the worst ice storm the city had seen — the first obsession, and the reason a whole page of this site is just the color blue.

02 · nashville, tn · 1990s → 2009

Nashville

The move I hated; the city I keep coming back to. Nashville is where the taste got built — and in August 2009 the record starts keeping itself: first scrobble, Bob Dylan on top, every play since on the books.

on repeat: Bob Dylan (152) · Radiohead (93) · The Flaming Lips (74)
the record begins 2009-08-26 — first artist on it: Bob Dylan
03 · cambridge, ma · 2010 → 2013

Harvard

Statistics by day, drinking by afternoon — a big guy from Nashville learning what the numbers say and what the nights don't. The locker says those four years belonged to The Tallest Man on Earth.

on repeat: Helios (1,256) · The Tallest Man on Earth (876) · Radiohead (685)
04 · new york, ny · 2014 → 2018

New York

Mixer — the creative network; seven good parties, one with French Montana. The travel record switches on here too: first logged stop, somehow, Shanghai.

on repeat: The Tallest Man on Earth (754) · Kanye West (721) · Helios (644)
05 · new york → everywhere · 2019 → present

Pawp

Co-founded pet care for the 100M+ pet-parent households — the longest era on this page, and still running. 2019 is the one year the music archive lost; the work has the receipts instead.

on repeat: Juice WRLD (2,025) · 44phantom (665) · Kanye West (644)
the archive's biggest artist-year lands here: Juice WRLD, 1,232 plays in 2020

The episodes

Two manic episodes, fully covered in the book: Weird April in 2023, then the spider bite that opened ManiaX in November 2024. The color game, the show that was never being filmed. The story lives there, not here. One artifact stays: the top artist of 2024 in the locker is F M R L. That's me.

on repeat: F M R L (450) · Tucker Wetmore (240) · Joey Pecoraro (154)
07 · los angeles, ca · 2025 → present

Now

Los Angeles now, after the Tennessee chapter — writing it all down. Black Holes in the Brain — in progress; the chonks multiplying; the record still running.

on repeat: Bad Bunny (492) · F M R L (408) · Olivia Dean (406)
